I hope you plan to celebrate with us at this year’s In2Risk® conference and CPCU Conferment in Washington, D.C., where you can enjoy powerful keynote speeches, engage in dynamic panel discussions and workshops, and expand your networking base—in other words, where you can continue to gain a competitive edge. As a 2023 designee, you have made an important first step toward “igniting your potential” in risk management and insurance (RMI), an industry that is now more critical than ever. In earning your CPCU®, the premier RMI designation, you have exhibited traits that will serve you well in your career, such as tenacity, drive, and commitment. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is connecting with those who are as passionate as I about RMI and who are committed to maintaining professionalism in this realm, as well as to pursuing advances that will best help those in need. As a member of the CPCU class of 2023, you are now part of this elite group. CPCU designees are more than program graduates. They are leaders. So, yes, you have earned a diploma, but you have also gained an important responsibility: to set a positive example within the RMI community. This is best accomplished by staying up to date on the latest insurance knowledge and trends, giving back by mentoring and supporting others, and always exhibiting and encouraging ethical conduct. By doing this, you will remain a CPCU in Good Standing through our continuing education program and be eligible to display The Institutes’ CPCU digital badge on all your social media posts and communications. I also hope you will take full advantage of membership in the CPCU Society. Our community of RMI professionals can help foster your career growth by both prioritizing a commitment to ethical behavior and providing access to continuing education and lifelong learning. Plus, the Society offers regular networking opportunities and admittance to INteract, an online community, connecting you with more than 15,000 experts. And it keeps you apprised on emerging industry issues and trends through regular communication and information outlets, such as the quarterly professional journal, Insights. As you peruse the list of others who earned the prestigious CPCU designation in 2023, I encourage you to reflect on your own accomplishment as a CPCU graduate. You have displayed a mastery of material, along with a persistence and level of flexibility, that sets you apart from the pack. On behalf of The Institutes, I not only congratulate you on your important, and altogether meaningful, achievement but also celebrate you for what is surely yet to come. Whether it’s lending your expertise and thought leadership, continuing to stay on top of key issues, or so much more, we can help you get there. The possibilities are endless, and the future is bright. Together, we ARE the CPCU Society. We are honored to share in the joy and excitement of your CPCU Conferment.
