Did You Know?Greetings, Fellow CPCU Society Members: As the season changes once again, I can’t help but look back on the summer months and reflect. What opportunities did you take advantage of? My summer was full of opportunities, including a long-awaited vacation in Alaska and time well spent with family and friends. The summer months also provided the Society the opportunity to grow our employer support offerings—something that will serve us well into the fall and beyond. As we look toward 2023 membership (you can renew starting on October 1), you’ll be more equipped than ever to appeal to leaders within your organizations. You may have noticed a new page at CPCUSociety.org dedicated to employer support, with toolkits and letters of endorsement from industry leaders. I hope you put them to good use. Speaking of good use, I’m energized by the meaningful interactions and conversations taking place on INteract. Participation in our Ask Me Anything and Tech Tuesday features has been outstanding. Look for these focused discussions monthly in the Coffee Break and Industry Insider forums. From your peers’ best career advice to knowledge sharing on key industry trends, I can’t wait to see what we learn from each other next. I’m also filled with anticipation and excitement for In2Risk 2022, taking place November 10 through 12. Many of you know In2Risk™ as our annual event for learning, networking, and celebrating the newest CPCU® designees. But for me, it is so much more than that. As our largest event, it gives me the opportunity to hear many of your stories and personally welcome you to the Society. To the class of 2022, I would like to extend my congratulations on completing your designation. Many of you will be in attendance, and I encourage you to get involved. Let In2Risk be the starting point of your engagement with the CPCU Society. For those of you planning ahead, please save the date for In2Risk™ 2023, which will take place October 5 through 7 in Washington, D.C. And now, I’m pleased to present our current issue of Insights. As always, this journal relies on the hard work of our Publications Committee and the extraordinary thought leaders who lend their time and expertise to its articles. Articles in the fall issue cover a wide range of topics, from the implications of technological advances like drones to the impact of interpersonal efforts, such as mentoring. One more thing: I want to thank those who participated in the #ShowUsYourInsights photo challenge on social media over the summer months. It has been delightful to see where Insights is traveling! I encourage you to take that engagement one step further. What’s your area of expertise? What should our industry be planning for? Our staff and volunteers would be thrilled to support you in writing an article. Reach out to MemberResources@TheInstitutes.org to learn more, and you might see your name in our next issue. I want to close by reminding you how much your involvement matters. Every one of you has something to offer our global community. Continue to provide your invaluable ideas, input, and knowledge. On behalf of the entire Leadership Council, I am here to help and can be reached at CPCUSocietyPresident@TheInstitutes.org. Until then, I can’t wait to see you in San Francisco at In2Risk 2022!
